Graves Blanc
From a two-hectare plot of gravely soil rich in clay and limestone, planted to 65% Sémillon, 20% Muscadelle and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. This is a Bordeaux that balances the wooly intensity of Sémillon with the freshness and vivacity of Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. Its notes of pommelo and honeydew melon are supported on a base of chalky minerality. Élevage is done in 4-hl barrels for nine months with regular battonage. 9,500 bottles per vintage, on average.
Graves Blanc, “Cana”
From a one-hectare parcel of gravel, clay and sand, with 50% Sémillon, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Muscadelle. It undergoes the same élevage as the basic cuvée, with nine months in 4-hl barrels (25% new). This is not a ‘flashy’ top cuvée – it carries more complexity than the basic cuvée, is very light on its feet, and is a classic expression of the terroir of the Graves district. Production runs around 4,000 bottles per vintage.
Graves Rouge
From a four-hectare parcel of gravel, clay and sand, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. Élevage runs 15 months in a mix of new and old “pieces”, and this is the most important wine of the estate at an average production of 18,000 bottles.
Graves Rouge, “Cana”
A 1.5ha parcel with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon / 40% Merlot. It sees the same élevage as the basic Graves, with 15 months in barrel (25% new), and production of up to 6,000 bottles.
