“Origini”, Vino Rosso di Alto Piemonte

This is a wine honoring local tradition, when everyone in the region had a backyard parcel to make a simple, rustic wine to drink at home. In this spirit, the Conti sisters reclaimed and revived a half-hectare of old vines in the Novara hills to produce this field blend comprised of Nebbiolo with small parts of Vespolina, Croatina, Uva Rara, Dolcetto, Barbera and “who knows what else” As with all of their wines, natural wine making is the practice. Minimal sulfur is employed, and the wine is raised for 15 months in half stainless steel, half large old oak casks.
