Beaune Rouge, “Vieilles Vignes 1926”

SKU BHBV

Despite a home base in the Cotes de Nuits, an important proportion of the wine at Domaine des Clos comes from the Cote de Beaune. From a truly vieilles vignes parcel in the “Les Bons Feuvres” climat — planted in 1926 — this silky wine has an exceptionally strong backbone, perhaps from the concentration of fruit rendered by the old vines, and perhaps due to the parcel’s proximity to Pommard.

About Domaine des Clos (Grégoire Bichot)

These are gutsy, layered wines with striking aromatic presence and phenomenal concentration—and, to boot, the Chablis is hand-harvested (a rarity in the region).
