Beaune Rouge, “Vieilles Vignes 1926”

Despite a home base in the Cotes de Nuits, an important proportion of the wine at Domaine des Clos comes from the Cote de Beaune. From a truly vieilles vignes parcel in the “Les Bons Feuvres” climat -- planted in 1926 -- this silky wine has an exceptionally strong backbone, perhaps from the concentration of fruit rendered by the old vines, and perhaps due to the parcel’s proximity to Pommard.
